the braces that bolt to the strut tower are pretty weak. if you want it to do its full job, weld some extra support onto them to prevent flexing.

Strut bars are all the same IMO. It just the material they are made out of, and quality....

For they money you pay, I think they're pretty good. Probably not Cusco good, but I'm not that hard on my hard, yet

These are old pics, I don't have the stock intake anymore and before anyone asks, I replaced my AST..... BTW, my wife painted the letters on the bar. Pretty much the only reason I chose a Megan Racing strut bar is because my wife's name is Megan. She thought it would be "cute".

The Megan strut bar is made of soft aluminum and the mounting plates are also a soft thin alloy, but they look nice and the price is right. The bars job is to control body flexing in hard cornering and the Megan does that but lacks the structural integrity of a higher quality and higher priced system using better materials

Using a 6061T aluminum which is rigid and doesnt bend easily and also regains its shape after flexing to its preflexed state as compared to the material used in the Megan bar. The 6061T would be the optimum material to use for this application but the price would be much higher.

I for one am a big fan of Megan Racing products. The main reason you ask......They are a solid cheaper alternative to other brnad names. I live a couple cities away from their facility so I am there a lot. They seem to be rather meticulous about fitment and qaulity. They have developed the full coil over dampers for the mazda Miata as well as some other parts with my car. They have also started creating more products for the FC after me badgering them about it for about a year.
If you want to classify them as an Ebay brand then they are definitely superior to the rest. If you want to compare them to Cuzco or Greddy then there are definitely markers that can't be reached by a smaller company. They are up and coming in the industry though and are active on the race track.
I say their products are attractive at a qiuck look.

well i still stand by my word that the megan racing bar is worth it. However, my shock tower braces bent a little bit on one side. I just hammered it back to normal(once it was off the car) and its all better again.

get it and beef up the mounts...no biggie.

i used an ebay bar on my fc and it was better than most of the "name brand" models. my fd just happened to have the cusco when i bought it, so i left well enough alone.

All better for now. You know what happens when you constantly bend a paper clip back and forth.....

The bar itself is probably okay but the mounts at the ends look flimsy. If the mounts are flimsy the bar is flimsy...

couple guys asked me how to beef up the mounts...
this is assuming the mounts are steel, and not aluminum.

grab some 1" angle iron and weld it to the plate and mount to sturdy up that right angle, then redrill the holes for the bar. you may have to use longer bolts, and you'll have to trim the angle down for a neat and tidy appearance.

so if you have a welder, it's about an hour and a $3 job.
