Megan Racing BOV

Has anybody installed this on their FD? I know it may not be considered a "premium" name brand for our FD's, but I'm debating on buying this as a solution to a malfunctioning wastegate (it's not venting properly--makes a stupid "kazoo-like" sound when I boost). I have a friend who's willing to sell me a brand new one for $40, so before buying it, I wanted to see if anybody had experiences with it.

It's also a universal BOV. Would I have any issues running 12-15psi on the '99 twins?

Thanks in advance.

How is an aftermarket BOV supposed to fix what you think is a wastegate problem? Did you mean you think your stock BOV is failing?

wastegate and BOV are totally different things. one sits by ur intake/intercooler piping and the other one by exhaust and turbo

Blow off valve releases the excess compressed air in ur intercooler piping when ur throttle body closes

wastegate keeps a steady opening that is determined by your boost setting to allow desired exhaust gas to enter and spool the turbo while releasing the rest to exhaust pipe.

once you buy something from magan racing.. youll never do it again. kind of like touching a wall socket. in most case's (almost all) you get what you pay for.

Like everyone else said. Blow off valves are not wastegates.

i think untill you have had first hand experience you shouldnt pass judgement....
i did an sr20 swap, tranny, big brakes, rear end, exh, front mount, etc. and MAGAN RACING coilovers in a 1995 240sx. they were very good quality and have worked just fine. now im not saying he should buy the BOV but i will say that the coilovers plus other parts ive seen from them seemed to be just fine imho.
