I'm sure the fender lip rolling was a honest mistake(at least I hope it was) And besides it's 10 y/o FD not a 100k porsche..

More like an experiment that turned out to be a mistake, always like to try new things and see how it turns out. In this case it looks like *** but I'll let you know tommorow if the desired effect of having the tire not rub and get torn up works.

I would not have done it if my fender was not already all torn up, it was rippled and rusty and acting like a serrated knife on my new tires.

Thank you!

Whats with all you people busting the guys *****? He's been on this forum and has owned FD's much longer than many of you.. He tried rolling the fenders and it didn't go so well. Big ******* deal. Its just a CAR. It's JUST the fenders.. It's not like he cut the stock springs, installed airbags or some silly **** like that. I guess if he molded a whole bunch of fiberglass to the lower portion of the car or tuned his PFC to shoot flames he'd be cool?

Oh... Also to add, his car does what many here won't ever do either. What it's good at.

my fc did that too.

I ended up using a screw driver to roll it back under, firmed up the suspension, and put my tri strut bar back in and it's pretty much gone.

Unless drifting i dont' have a problem with it anymore. For the most part it a good way to keep me from break'n the law all the time.

going around a corner slow b/c your tires will rub in a car that can normally take it at 2x that speed is really frustrating.

Relax? Why? Because I just don't understand why people buy sportscars to look at, then rag on someone for dicing it up a little to make it work a little better at what it's built for? It's like bitching at someone for sharpening their mower blades or something.. But whatever.

I bet noone noticed what crashunit had to do to his fenders to make his rims fit... Or Petit on the Banzai 20b.. Or like every RE car..

The clearcoat deterioration was from lack of dust cleaning, right?

That's what the car was designed for, champ.

It's a PERFORMANCE car - not a dick extension.

I know plenty of track driven cars that have had less **** beat out of them after 40k miles compared to street driven ones.

By the way some of you track boys act I really believe it is a "dick extension", in the personality category.

Excuse us if some of us like straight line speed and looks instead of how fast we can slam the car around curvy asphalt.

I like my car because it is unique and pretty fast for society. I guess I am a bit **** that I dont' want to take a car around a track due to the fact these cars numbers are dwindling as it is and they cost a lot to maintain, not to mention fix the **** you break.

I'll just drop it here however, because clearly there are three types of FD owners and you and I are not in the same category.

Right. I drive my car for, not only the purpose Mazda intended, but for the entire group of cars which it belongs to: 50/50 balanced independent suspension lightweight sports cars.

Excuse us if some of us like straight line speed and looks instead of how fast we can slam the car around curvy asphalt.
If you had even once brought your car to any kind of track with actual turns you wouldn't be issuing the above statement.

And "looks" ? What was that about dick extension?

That's kinda what it looks like to me. Brake dust can be extremely corrosive if not cleaned off for long periods of time. Nasty stuff....

Those look like pretty old Fikses, though. Mine are a couple of years old, but the clear coat on them seems thick enough to last.

I wasn't trying to start an argument man.. Just trying to defend the few people who arent afraid to use the car for it's original intent. I'm not ragging on you for NOT driving your car on a track.. Not at all. Just thought people were a little harsh on Jedon, that's all. Seems like (and not pointing fingers) that lots of people get the car just to get it.. And then go nuts when they see people drive them hard. No offense.. I wasn't trying to get under your skin. It's your car. Do with it what you please.

I'm not really disappointed in you, but rather the other prson who feels they need to tell me what I will and will not like and how my personal possessions are suppose to be used.

...because I always see Lambo's and Ferrari's being raced, because that is what they were meant for right?

How many FD's get wrecked on a organized race track compared to the # of FD's wrecked on public roads.. I bet the first # is very very low and the second # is very very high.

I have alot of respect for someone who "beats the **** out of his pride and joy" on the track.

As far as Jedon's wheels, I don't know if those wheels were originally on that specific car or not, but if they were on the car that got wrecked a long time ago(And I believe got parted a couple years ago?) then they have been through hell and back.. Which would explain their condition.
