Unhappy Mazda dealership does it again.........

I called the local dealer to get a compression test(Lawton Ok, they said they could and I drove it down last Friday, and brought my own new plugs to change out while I was there.

The dealer didn't have the correct plug adaptor for the comp test and they offered to change my plugs. What could they screw up??????????????....right.............
Driving home my Rx is bucking an kicking around 4K, Get back to the house, call the dealer back they ask me to bring it back in, I drive it back in and give it the once over they have no idea and they want me to leave it there over the weekend, I said "no way I'll change out the wires and get back with them".

So I finally wires come in from the store; I pull off the throttle body and there it was; the wire is just off the coil pack burnt......now I ordered a throttle body gasket from Malloy Mazda broke the old one; it gets here today and I put it all back together I take it for a drive and it runs better but still bucks, just not as bad as before and tacks up higher.
And of course the dealership denys any wrong doing.....

thinking
Coil burnt up???
Fouled plug???

Any suggestions would be appreciated.......

I would pull the plugs and check to make sure they installed the correct ones. Did they make a mistake and put the leading where the trailing is suppose to be? I would'nt doubt it. After that, check the coil packs.

My guess: They did the compression test without pulling the EGI fuse and fried some coils because the associated wires had no spark plugs attached when they cranked it.

To test the coils:

/\ that wont fry the coils..

let me get this straight. u took the car in, they worked on it and something was wrong. instead of bringing it back u decided to work on it and wonder why they say they are not responsible?? why would they have taken a wire off the coil pack when they just did plugs?

Update:

They pulled the plug wire off the coil when they pulled it off the plug, and not smart enough to check that out when I brought it back in when it was running like crap.......

Anyhow, I replaced the plugs and it's running okay, but looses power/bogs out when I put the peddle down......I can slowly accelerate up the RPM band though...
thinking it may be the o2 sensor or the TPS settings since I had the throttle body off....

check your map sensor is connected properly.

dont really see how you can blame mazda for this though bud. Unless you find proof of something they messed up though.

also try recalibrating the TPS if youve toyed with it.

What plugs did you have put in and what state of tune is the car at? Standard plugs will not run reliably on even lightly tuned cars - some cars are ok with it, others arent. I use B9EGV plugs. Youll need a special spark plug socket but the price different is great and they work well (standard plugs £15+ each here, B9EGVs £3)

Well.................
lets put this into a little perspective here; It was running like a top when I brought it in to the dealership...
running good and accelerating good and hard.

I bring it to the dealer for a simple test, and replaced the plugs while I'm there with the exact plugs that were in the motor NGKs 9&7's (but brand new)
So should new plugs cause your car to run worse?
Would you be pissed driving off the lot with new plugs and it runs worse then when you brought it in and get it home to find the plug wire off just 1/4 inch off the coil pack????
Proof?? I have a totally arced burnt wire connections, and arcs on the coil pack, and pix too......

I'd just be happy with it running good again.

I'll check the map sensor next.
thanks

Your first mistake was taking it to the dealership. Period.

Do a search and you'll see just how many disgruntled owners have had a bad run in with dealers.

Update:

I disconnected the battery, at lunch, hoping to reset the systems, and after work I checked all the connections tightened the intake elbow bolts, and gave everything a once over. Hooked the battery up and its running like a champ, now.... : )
The only thing I still have an issue with is the idol is a bit high....but I can adjust that.

thanks everyone..............
