You can call it bad mechanics, dishonest or whatever.
Comes down to it with these cars, you got to be able to diagnose these minor problems yourself before forking the cash..period. This forum is the place I go first for any problems I have with my cars. And I can't thank all who have contributed.

well said.

im glad you found out mike beforehand, thats good karma

It wasn't a dealer and yes I think they should know what a coupler is. But that's was not my point.

My question is why would a Mazada tech intentionally damage this or anyone's car? I could see it in a small repair shop where the owner is the only mechanic and hence gets all the profits, but what does a Mazada tech have to gain?? He gets paid by the hour?

I believe they get paid per job. They have a guide that they go by. If the book states that it takes 4 hours to do a clutch job and it only takes them 2, the dealer in most cases will still charge you for the full 4 hours. Certified mechanics at dealerships make very good money.

One of the two dealerships here in town won't even work on the rotary engine. When I asked to make an appointment, they told me to go to John Kemmer's shop. He was their "rotary guy" but decided to go out on his own.

Believe me, he was awsome! Half as much as the dealer costs and he got it done before I picked it up.

Getting it done on time may not sound so awsome but the other dealership in town had me wait an extra hour and 45 minutes just so the mechanic could go out and tool around in it. I saw him take off from the service desk window and didn't come back for like 25 minutes. When the idiot decided to finally show up again, he parked it next to the bay door in a blind spot. While I was waiting another 20 minutes for the mechanic to list all of the "problems" it had, one of the salesmans mother was backing out of the shop. The **** hit my car. She got out, inspected it and drove away. I tried running out to stop her and she didn't stop. I told the service manager and he inspected the car and he didn't believe that she had just sraped my FD up. I ended up going to work, albeit one hour late, and never hearing back from anyone about the little mishap in the parking lot. The law has now been involved and I am awaiting whatever info the lawyer has for me.

This is why you DO NOT go to a dealershit.

Don't blame him it was probably Angie that took it to the dealership.
Why would you create an alter-ego as a girl? Wouldn't guys start hitting on you in this forum?

Rotoboy turning into angie would be like Clark Kent turning into superwoman.

When i first got my car i went to the dealership for some oem keys (i didn't like the .75 cent keys i got when i got the car) and then i asked the service department how much is a compression test, the guy told me $150 to do it.... (menlo mazda). I was like oh... i'll come back.... from that moment on i never returned to that dealership. Odd thing was i saw like 2 rx-7 there b4 as well... i wonder if they got jacked...

Even private mech's don't like rotory's. I called a local shop to do some work on my car called Mazda's Only and they refused to work on my car lol Hard to find a good rotary mechanic.

Jesus you poor bastard. I lived in Palmdale until I was about 10, moved to Austin Texas the same year the third gen was released. I would rather stab myself in the ***** with an ice pick than live in the Antelope Valley again.

Get out of that **** hole while you still can.

This thread is such BS~!!!!!!!! A guy that has over 3,000 post would bring his car to the dealer for service???? Even someone like myself with so little posts know that you can get a reman. from malloy for 2300 and labor at any place for installation is not going to add up to 6k. Why didn't you toll that thing out of there asap?? The map sensor line is the first thing i would check when the engine sounds like its blown. Stop your BSing to make us feel bad for you and give us back our money:

I can't believe this dude? He would say anything to redeem himself.
You are online as I am typing this f*cking post and still you're not responding to the pms. You practically live on this forum, so why is it that you are willing to screw up your rep? Stop thinking of stupid ways to redeem yourself when the right way is to solve the problems. So so sad.
