Maybe motor no.3 =\
was driving on the freeway, not full boosting. hit .83 bar on PFC, normally im at 1.00 bar.
car just bogged down and started to die. It wouldnt start back up. towed it home. cranked it. it sounds like it wants to start back up but its not catching. smell of fuel.
fuel pressure looks fine,
everything looks hooked up
took out the 2 leading plugs and both looks black with some carbon, havent replaced em in 2,500 miles, hoping thats the prob.
seems like oil squirted all around the turbo area kinda on the upper radiator hose and i cant figure out where its coming from yet.
im at work right now so i have to figure it out when i get home.
so i took out the 2 leading plugs, hoping that if its flooded it'll dry out when i get home with some new plugs and try it again. Im also gonna crank it and see if im getting compression in both sides.
god i hope its not another motor. this one has only got 3,500 miles on it or so. damn rotaries so unpredictable I know everyone around me is going to tell me to sell the car if it is. i really dont want to though. ive poured my heart and soul into the car and 3 years worth of work on the car and at the workplace collecting paychecks for it. i dont wanna give up now. especially when i saw how well this thing does against that viper AHHH!!!!
somebody hold me =\

So if you have a compression tester that would be first. But you know this, and your right you can listen for 3 equal pulses on each rotor and that will give you a go, no go idea about compression.
Check for oil on the non compressed side of the intake and also in you IC lines right of the compressed side of your turbo.
Lets hope it is time for that new turbo you want and you can throw away that POS e-bay crap. *crosses fingers*
Good Luck

I am hoping thats all it is. My next mod was a new turbo...i was only $300 away.... =\
now i hope its not a whole motor/turbo job.
I dont get it though. yes there is shaftplay in the turbo. but it still spins...But it was smoking a TON during the last 500 miles ive been driving it. That stinky burning oil blown turbo smell.

maybe the oil was coming from the omp. the lines do look a little wet around there...are omps known to take a dump at 135k?... how would i know? i could also see a little bit off oil on the manifold where it meets the engine...
I hope its not that either. in the end would still result in a rebuild =\

ok... WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
i just got home from work and i took out the fuse for the fuel pump and for the ignition. and i had my brother crank it with my hands infront of each opening for the plugs and the front one was fine, big pushes of air fellt good. The rear same thing except it was wet! so i was like ****. thats probably fuel so i smelled it and its not. its water. what the hell...
how did my coolant seal blowout, the cars never been overheated, temps have ALWAYS been 81-88 deg. cel. Even when the car shut off the temps were at 86 deg. cel. I leave the fans on for a good 6 minutes after shutting off the car to let the coolant cool down. I dont get it =\
i guess it cud be far worse but this aint that gravy either...till means a rebuild ofj ust the rear half at least i guess.
i can see coolant aruond where my coolant hoses is, and ontop of the exhaust manifold. under the LIM. any ideas if there might be something else other then the actual motor? that doesnt make sense to me!

well as far as cooling goes. i run the fans as soon as i see 70 deg cel. I have a koyo radiator. greddy 1.3bar cap. water wetter and water.
i treated the car very nice, i let the fans run and run right when i turn off the car. i avoid driving in traffic. i get off the freeway and take the long way if i have too as long as traffics flowing. i dont get it. **** just happens =\
so i think im gonna make it a mission to rebuild the rear half, just the coolant seals. does anyone want to help me? if not i will go v8. chevy block with a hole cut out of the hood for a blower. jk haha what a threat huh.
my engine builder is a very respectable builder, and i 100% trust his work. maybe i just had shitty luck.

if it were fuel coming out...I wouldn't want my hand there with no plugs, YIKES!!
check you coolant lines and LIM gasket...could coolant be sucked into the motor.
you built the motor, correct??
if something was wrong internally, I think it would have surfaced long before 3k miles...especially the way you beat on it

Hooray For Boobies!!!
First go buy some trouble shooting tools.
Piston Engine Compression Tester
and
Coolant System Pressure Tester
Use them both and determine you engines compression and if you have an internal water leak.
Then continue from there.
Hows the IC piping look, do you have a lrage amount of oil in there? Did you find out where the oil was coming from?
Why? Without plugs in and the fuses pulled no worries of a fire. Let me in to what you're thinking about. I'm curious. Why, because I have done this in the past also.
Thanks
Joe
