I ran 550/1300 with bnr stage 3. Tuned by thewird at 17psi. I think he said I was at 90% duty (I think). I wanted to run higher boost (20psi) but I wouldn't have enough fuel. I had a stock fpr so that might have played a small factor.

Not much. I should have clarified. I hit 17psi then my boost would drop down to 15 or so. The car only managed to get 310HP. I believe this dyno is very conservative as another forum member was around 400HP with a single turbo aspec 500r. Every dyno is different so I do not pay much attention to the number.

Had it held 17 till red line I likely would have got a bit more, but I do not have the car any more.

Just to add another 2 cents.

My ballpark rule of thumb is that for most RX-7s at near-stock fuel pressures, your max rwhp is about (total fuel in cc/min) / 10. That's running nearly 100% duty which is not cool. So really you're looking at probably x another 0.9 to keep in the safe zone.

So for 550/1300, you have (550+550+1300+1300) / 10 = 370 wheel horsepower MAX running at or around 100% duty (not really safe!). So multiply by 0.9 and that gets you 333 wheel horsepower with some safety margin.

So I'm saying that at near stock fuel pressures and assuming your fuel pump can keep up and doesn't drop off, you're good for 333-370 range more or less.

Reports vary on the 850 primary debate. There are definitely those that say they won't function that well at idle AND people that say they are fine.

As for the 550/1600 transition, my car has these, and it runs very smoothly BUT I have also heard other people have a hell of time getting the transition smooth.

When it comes to the RX-7, there isn't usually a solid answer hahah.
