Marquis De Sade designed airbox

After removing and installing the airbox and the upper and lower radiator hoses I am convinced that I should buy an aftermarket unit if I ever need to remove the box again.

After breaking most of the electrical connectors during this job I am convinced that the underhood heat is hardening everything prematurly.

Has anyone found an intake shroud that will mate to a MazdaSpeed hood to vent extra heat in addition to providing intake charge cooling?

Electrical connectors? The airbox doesn't have any electrical connectors.

The high temps under the hood can't be good for anything under there. You should do the fan mod on Steve Cirians website. It runs the fans for 10 minutes after you shut down the car. It helps a lot.

The Hose and Airbox job were part of a larger operation in which I changed the EGR Valve, Hoses, Air Cleaner Element, and Spark Plugs.

Yup, those stock airbox hose clamps are pain in the *** to deal with.

I like the stock spring clamps. Just grab them with a big channel lock, slide them down a bit, and it's done. No screw that you have to turn 10 or 15 rotations.

I hate the stock spring clamps. I've replaced them with easier, lighter (OK, so it's a miniscule amount) hose clamps. Just get a decent ratchet and socket, twist your wrist a few times, and it's done. No spring clamp that wants to jump out of the channel locks if you're not careful, or requires that you have hands the size of Andre the Giant to maneuver.
