map sensor ?

Hey guys was working on my car last night and pull the check valve the one on the map sensor the( black valve ) . Is it a one way valve ? I try blow on it both side and air pass though both side is it that way or do i need to get a new one?

If its connected between the UIM and the map sensor its an air filter as far as I know so air both ways is normal.

yes, it supposed to be like that, as the MAP sensor measures both boost and vacuum so the ECU knows which is which based on the voltage it receives.

As per the references, it's called the "gas filter".

Its just a filter to protect the map sensor from contamination. Doesn't matter which way it goes.

According to the FSM the arrow on the filter should be pointing away from the sensor toward the UIM.
