manual boost controller issues-need help

i installed a dp, pettit ecu, and home depot boost controllers about 3 weeks ago. boost pattern before these mods w/ an intake and cb was 10-8-10. i put the home depot controllers on and can't get them tuned properly. at first i got the primary set at 12, then couldn't get the pre-spool set right. w/ this set up i run 12-6-8. then i got the pre-spool set right and the boost pattern was 10-8-10, back to stock. so i leave the pre-spool alone and try and turn the primary boost controller, but no matter what i do i can't get it to go above 10.
so i re-install the original vacuum line w/ the restricter pill in it thinking i could set the primary and have the secondary come on at 8. still a boost pattern of 12-5-6.
as you can see i need some help as i'm pretty fustrated. any thoughts would be great. nick

I didn't install the precontroller on my FD so I can't offer much help.

Try this link: http://home.istar.ca/~dvandit/turbocharger.htm

It was pretty helpful when I had boost problems...

Just keep trying it a delecate balance of tuning both valves. Small change mean alot both valves need to be set together.
Are you able to get the primary above 12psi?
Im thinking with the stock pills you should be over 10psi
with your mods. On a stock 94 (no DP, catback, intake , etc I can get over 10 by adjusting the valves

I also have the HD boost controllers, and yes they are touchy. Getting them right took a lot of trial and error, and I still adjust them every now and then to try and refine them. Very very slight moves do make big changes. I also have an exhaust leak that I can't seem to sort out, so there is another quirk to figure into the equation.
