Manual boost controller issues

I'm having a problem with my TurboXS manual boost controller on my FD. I'm still running the stock sequential turbos and no matter what I do I can't get the boost controller to regulate boost. Hooked up to primary turbo I either get 14psi or no boost and hooked up to the secondary turbo I either get 16psi or no boost. Is there a stock boost setting that must be turned off? I've tried many things to get it to work properly and nothing has worked yet.... Can someone help me?

What did you get before you installed the Turbo XS?

Well I am not sure about that exact boost controller, but I have a Hallman Rx MBC and it works fine for me. How did you route the thing meaning how did you install it? I used version two in the diagram below and mine works great! I know this setup if sometimes frowned upon, but no one has given me a goood reason why. It holds a perfect 10 psi! This diagram was drawn for a EBC, but I used a MBC and I get perfect boost.

goodluck,

the hallman and the turboxs are esentially the same.

things that would cause uncontrollable boost:

didnt remove the restrictor pills from the stock lines,
boost controller installed incorrectly,
too little backpressure on your exhaust causing your wastegate to creep.

the turboxs mbc is a very simple device and aside from catastrophic failure is not be the problem.

Recon FD posted the most helpful information you will probably need. When I was having boost problems, that's the diagram i used. I hooked in my boost controller like in version 2 (just replace the stepper motor with your boost controller). Like XSTransAm said, make sure the pills that are in the stock lines are taken out. They were originally there to control the boost but since you will be controling it, those pills will only hinder you. Good luck. Boost problems can really suck sometimes.

Without the boost controller I peak at 12 psi. The only other person I know with an FD is having the same problem with his GReddy ProfecB but he's gettin 18psi! But, thanks for the inpt guys... I guess I'll try that out and see how it works.... I'm not sure about the pills because I replaced all the lines between the turbo and wastegate when I hooked up the MBC, all the vacuum lines there were pretty worn and I couldn't fit the boost controller underneath the intake so I had to extend the lines.... I'm sure if I study that diagram I can figure it out...

It's not to hard. You should be able to do it fairly easily. Just make sure you cap off the back of the wastegate, pre spool actuator and the lines that go to the solinoids!

good luck,

Sorry to bring this thread back fro the dead, but I was wondering how this setup was working out for those using it (version 2) and also wondering what the idea was with capping the nipple on the other side of the WG actuators?? I am using the same MBC, but havent capped any lines so just tyring to find the right instructions for the job! Right now now im getting 10-8-spike to 15 and let off!! any heko would be great!!
