Question Major bogging more than 4.5K RPM

all,

i'm asking this question on behalf of my friend.
he has a single turbo conversion. basically, he just took out his stock twins.. and replace it with a FC turbine.

yes, it's a small turbine. he has an issue here. basically he followed some dude's manual about single turbo conversion. using 4 solenoid valves only.

yes he's still running stock ECU or the remapped ECU for stock twins..

his problem is when the car boost until 4.5K RPM... when normally the secondory turbo kicks in.... his car got this major bogging....it feels like his FC turbine acts like a primary turbine that spools and runs like one... when time for the 2nd one to kick in... all he got is major bogging.

where did he gone wrong ? are there any way of just like making hte connection so that the turbine behaves like a secondary instead of primary ?

He needs an upgraded ECU since the stock one was not tuned for a singel turbine, IE, PFC

the other interesting part is that.... another dude... he is using a twin turbo ECU - RE Amemiya REDOM A. on his single turbo setup. and it runs well. but probably not to its full potential.

my friend got a Haltech E6K, he is considering using it. but does it help by just leaning up the fuel curve after 4.5K RPM ? or if the haltech has the capability to overide the ECU to act as single turbo ?
