I'm having trouble finding decent info on this topic. I noticed some FD guys have Magnaflows so I thought I'd ask for some questions:

1. What are the differences between the XL, Universal Fit, Race Series (the ones intended for the street)?

2. Volume & Performance levels over stock?

Get a universal fit 3"inlet 3"outlet muffler, either 1 or 2 depending on how your doiing the exhaust. I wouldn't recommend the race series unless your car is really really fixed up. I only have experience with the universal fit, but with a 3"inlet/outlet universal fit and an Apex GT spec muffler too my car is still loud enough to get me pulled over. I love the sound more than any other exhaust I have heard on an FD. I plan on switching to 2 4"inlet/outlet magnafor race series mufflers in a few months.

 

Interesting... so I see I'm not the only one pondering the idea of a custom exhaust.

Iv'e got the MagnaFlow Dual 3" outlet x 3" inlet SS performance muff and it really rocks. The entire body is highly polished SS. The sound is pretty awesome at WOT. The Db levels at city cruzin is still a litttle high, but tolerable. No fitment problems on the install. The M/F stock number on mine is #14298. Got it through www.bigexhaust.com for about $110.00.
