Made a bracket for better mounting of the RE-Amemiya Diffuser

Just wanted to post this for future reference for anyone who happens to install one of these...

I found that the single bolt at the rear center of the diffuser did not provide enough support. As you can see from the pictures, I somehow cracked the top-center of my diffuser - I think this happened because of how it was attached. I noticed it was rather wobbly when it was mounted with only this one mounting location. At first I thought it was like that to allow flex (and prevent breakage) but it ended up cracking...so I guess the flex is unnecessary.

We fabricated a bracket to make the diffuser more secure. The bracket is made out of aluminum and is epoxied to the diffuser as well as bolted though the original hole. On the other side, the bracket bolts to the rear bumper in two locations, behind the license plate. This new bracket makes the diffuser very stiff and more level. Here are some photos of the custom bracket and results.

The bracket definitely helps keep the diffuser level (before, it tended to droop to one side for some reason), and so far it seems much more stable, and less ghetto.

Cheers!

That looks pretty good. I will have to keep that in mind when I finally get around to purchasing one of those diffusers. Thanks for the tip!
