MAC solenoids with stock ECU
Hi All, I am going through my 94 RX7 and doing the solenoid/hose/actuator fix on everything I can. It's pretty much stock. I found one of the solenoids on the front of the motor was leaking badly(wastegate control or turbo pre control) . Reading some threads people have suggested using MAC solenoids as a replacement. They look good but do they work with the stock ECU? The stock solenoids are 40 ohm which comes out to 3.6W. The MACs are 5.4W. Is that extra power going to be an issue for the stock ECU? Is there any other issues? Such as the speed they open or how they work under duty cycle?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the reply. Just the extra power is what concerns me mainly, 5.4W vs 3.6W. Could be significant depending on what they use to switch the solenoids in the ECU. Do you know where to get the MACs that are genuine? I see them range from $120 down to $11 on ali express.
Buy parts from reliable sources and everything you get will be genuine. Shopping on eBay, temu, aliexpress, alibaba, AMAZON or any other weird website will yield varying results.

FYI There's an old thread here where someone sourced MAC solenoids to replace the stock ones. Might be linked in the FAQ. Answers to your questions might be in that thread. I have a set but never installed them.
