M2 stage 3 with 99 twins
I am contemplating the winter project. I've got a set of 99+ twins and (before I put them on) I am looking for advice. 1) Does anyone here run 99 twins with an M2 stage 3 and do they perform different enough from stock twins to require additional tuning? 2) If I go with the Power fc, would I need to upgrade my injectors? Any other advice/ comments are welcome. FWIW, I will stay non-seq so please no advice to the contrary.

Did you run that on 93 octane? also if you dont mind me asking what were your mods at the time? and also what RWHP did you see with that setup?
I have an M2 stg III ECU as well, and I am contemplating adding in a MP after I add a FMIC (or SMIC). I think that if I can control the boost, I should be fine.

I've talked to M2 and the reason why they say you can't run a midpipe is because boost creep.
However, I mentioned to them that I ported the wastegate so they said as long as I control the boost then it's fine.
The key here is maintaining safe boost levels.

If you have uncontrollable boost creep beyond what your car is tuned for, then you risk detonation no matter what ECU you are running.

I agree. Keep the boost under control and you can run a MP. Basically the stock ECU is good for stage III mods if you keep the boost at 10psi.

The difference between the 99+ turbos and the stockers should be that the 99+ turbos don't heat the air as much for the same boost level. That should mean that no additional tuning is required, but you will get a little more performance out of the car since the IC won't have to cool the intake charge down as much.

I am next week when I install DP, intakes and M2 Stage3 ECU I bought off jpandes.
Currently there are no problems at keeping the boost at 10psi with ProfecB.

Thanks for all of your help...my advice to you is sorta expensive, but I have learned the hardest way....please buy a wideband, even a used one from the forum if you can. I blew four motors before i bought one and finally realized that I had a voltage problem to my pump...not consistently getting 12 volts. Finally got a wideband to tell me that I was not getting enough fuel...did four perfect installations....even had a brand new supra fuel pump and had great idle pressure...but when i taped the guage to my windsheild, lost pressure after 4.5k...and was going lean. I could not figure out why my voltage was so erratic.
finally, scraped some paint and ground well...got 10ga wire and a 5pin relay from rice store and wire the supra pump to 12 volts all the time....now I run the 99 spec twins to 17psi and still maitain 95% duty on stock injectors at 11.2 a/f.
hope all goes well...my used wideband cost me $400...spent close to 4k on rebuying motors.
