M2 Medium SMIC - What's the value these days?

Everyone is going to be tired of me quickly, sorry, but I have another question!

I'm updating to a GReddy V-mount with this build. I've had someone inquire about purchasing my M2 Medium SMIC setup. I have no idea what this would be worth these days.
It is in great shape (no bent fins, etc.) and has a cool charge-type duct and pipes.

Any advice on a fair price?

Personally, I would do a search under the for sale section on here and see what they have been going for in the last few years.

A few years back those IC's were very sought-after and they are still top notch for those that don't want a Vmount nor a FMIC. IMO what has affected their desirability is the available vmount kits and the bunch of followers that preach 100% stock is the way to be (I'm talking about those that don't have an ultra low mileage car but are stuck on the potential value of their car).

Back in the day I went looking for an M2 (ASP) med. but couldn’t find one…at least that I could afford. M2 had dissolved a few years earlier and it seemed good ones were being horded. Consistently good reviews, bar/plate construction and as I recall the med. didn’t require battery relocation. I do kind of remember that the ‘kit’ came with its own inlet/outlet pipes. So you need those or have them fab’d. If you have their duct and piping with it, in good condition….my guess is maybe $1200-$1400.

the ASP IC system was originally designed by the late great Kevin Wyum. he sourced his cores through Spearco. i run the original Wyum large core (17 inch) and in 2022 tested it against 3 other ICs i had had custom built. not really surprised to find it tested better than the other 3.

Kevin was a busy guy. he eventually sold his creation to M2. M2 added a smaller setup to accomodate the interest in retaining the battery in the original location. i am pretty sure the M2 core is a Spearco, just smaller. Spearco has been subsequently sold and the cores now come from Asia.

i happen to have saved the 1999 Turbo Magazine M2 series where they uprate the FD. they compare the OE IC with the two M2 offerings and a Mazdacomp IC.

the "Medium M2", which is what you have, did very well.

core volume is 507 cubic inches compared to the OE at 129 (!), the Large at 747 and a Greddy V mount at 647. pressure drop is only 1.1 psi.

while some might just consider it a blast from the past, it is a really good piece.

someone will be making a smart buy.
