IMO it's BS to take $$ from a customer but not deliver, unless there are specific agreements to the contrary. I've heard way too many horror stories from friends to hand over my money but get nothing in return for months.
That's why I always pay with a credit card when ordering something!

Money can't buy everything, and apparently an M2 airbox is one of those things.

I know this may be coming a little late, but let me give you guys my 2 cents on this. The only thing I ever ordered from M2 was a dual tip catback and I was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks and it came in 6 months later. I am very happy with the catback, and the wait really did not bother me too much. The catback fit perfectly, with no modifications required to fit.

Then I decided to put the RX-7 fashion airbox into my car..... I don't know if I have the newer or the older box, but it was a HUGE pain in the *** to get it in for something that was supposed to "bolt in". I had to cut some of the car body to fit it in, for starters (although there is a slight possibility that the previous owner wrecked the car, and the body shop did a poor job on the repair). The lower large opening for the hose going to the turbos, is way too low making it almost impossible to get that hose on. And when you do get it on, it is so deformed, that it is in danger of getting sucked shut. The openings on the inside of the airbox were so poorly designed, that I had to cut the top one so I can squish the filters into the box. If they had angled the openings appropriately it would not be so hard to put two filters into an airbox that is large enough to fit 3 or 4. Either way, there is no way I would have fit this crap in there without Jack and Darrel's help.

Well, I ordered an M2 airbox weeks and weeks ago. Heck, I forget when now. I understood at the time that it would take a while to have them ready due to manufacturing issues with their recent batch. I was fine with that, and didn't mind waiting. I've had a lot of stuff fixed on the car in the meantime (front cover gasket, pulsation dampener...Thanks Mazcare!). I was contacted nearly two weeks ago by M2 that the boxes were coming in, and mine would be shipped out Monday. I called them back, spoke with a gentleman, and provided my payment information. I also wanted to know how soon it would really ship because I was moving at the end of this week (Today actually), so I was supposed to find out about that on Monday. Then Sunday roughly (5 days ago) I was actually charged for the box. At that point, I felt I needed a tracking #. So I started my attempts to reach Mostly Mazda, all but one appears to have been ignored. So far, I've had one email response to 4 emails (on Thursday, which stated Brian@M2 was supposed to call me to confirm ship to information since they were so late getting my box out the door, he has not yet), and no return phone calls to the 3 or so messages I've left, giving 2 different phone #s to call. Not once has anyone answered the phone.

I'm not here to bash these people, but this customer service needs fixing. I can sympathize with being busy, but I am very disappointed, and this is simply not worth dealing with even if their product is one of the best out there. Attention needs to be given to providing timelier feedback to the customers, ESPECIALLY if they have paid for an item that has yet to be received (or shipped for that matter).

I'll provide a follow-up when they contact me and actually ship the box, and also when I install it.

Ackman, Your box must be in the same batch as mine. Just think, though, I ordered it in April, and even if I receive it next week, I won't be able to install until halfway through August b/c I'm going on vacation.

Update:

I called M2 again twice today, and got an answer this the second time. Brian was out a few days last week so my airbox shipment was put on hold until my address was verified again by him. It's ready to ship now, and it should ship by the end of the week ( per my request ).

More to come... (arrival and install/fitment notes)

Still no intake, but Brian called me yesterday to tell me it had shipped. Still awaiting a tracking #.

Udpate: It has arrived, after being misrouted to an old address.

Overall, I am very pleased with the appearance and weight of the unit. I have yet to open it up, and it didn't include instruction on installation, but with only two screw mounting points, I suppose it will be self explanatory.

I bypassed the interminable wait for M2 products by buying one used in what appears to be excellent condition. It will interesting to see how it performs compared to my modded stock airbox...
