A/M Temp Gauge Install
OK so i just bought and installed the Autometer electric temp gauge this weekend. it was the easiest thing i've done since the boost gauge. if you still are running with just the stock temp gauge i would strongly recommend this gauge.
What you need:
8mm hex wrench/socket ($4), teflon tape ($2), autometer gauge #3337 ($40)
Look at the coolant filler neck housing...it has a tapped hole in it on top! there should be a plug in it that you can break free with an 8mm hex wrench. Remove the two bolts on the filler neck first to get it out of the way. Then take out the plug, screw in the sender for the gauge (don't forget the teflon tape!)---there is a size adapter fitting included with the gauge that will match the hole on the filler housing. It is very tight clearance after the sender is in place to put the filler neck back on, but if you align the sides of the hex right on the sender it will fit! easy! do it now!
