I dont know why everyone was so mad at me in my previous thread, but I currently own a VW r32 and am looking to get into an FD... obv no one looked at my sig. I have 26K of mostly my own money in this car already.

Why anyone suggested an MR2 is beyond me, but the reason i wanted to take out a loan was that I want to sell the r32 and cannot do a fair trade into an FD. Banks dont give 20K loans to people who cant borrow against property (i.e. I have an apt and am still in college)

I am still looking for reliability evidence for the ls1 swap... please do not post if you cannot contribute any info.

If you scroll down there's a forum called "Rotary Performance" and ironically enough there is a sub-forum there called "Other Engine Conversions" which houses most of the LSx discussion on this forum. You'd probably better off asking directly to www.torquecentral.com as most anyone that's in the "other engine conversions" forum is most likely on torquecentral.

From what I can tell, a well-built, properly put-together LSx FD will be just as reliable as a well-built, properly put together 13B FD. The difference is the LSx will probably get better gas mileage, and is also part of the largest family of mass-produced engines ever made. Whatever you get in an FD, just do everything you can to make sure it's been done right. Nothing is worse than sifting through someone else's half-assed car fixing all the millions of little things that have gone wrong.
