Lowish boost on 1st gear

Hi guys. I have been searching trying to find a solution regarding my 1st gear boost issues, but haven't found anything so far.

I have a 99fd sequential setup with aftermarket SMIC, 4.44 final gear, aftermarket cat, racing beat exhaust. My car has a PowerFC ecu and was tuned by Enzo to 0.9 boost.

After having other boost issues I changed the black box with another one and the car boosts on full throttle from around 3000rpm pulling harder from 6000 onwards.

My issue is on first gear it boost to 0.6 maybe, sometimes when I launch it it may boost a bit higher in the very high revs. Another thing i have noticed is that when I am at constant 4500rpms on 2nd gear and plant my foot down it boosts with some lag of maybe 500rpm. Is that normal?

PS. With my mechanic we've checked all solenoids and valves and everything seems OK.

Help I am going crazy! I now understand the single turbo solution peace of mind!

First gear doesn't put enough load on the engine to make full boost, especially when coupled with your 4.44 r&p.

Thank you for your reply I did was not aware of this! Is there anything I can do to rectify this or make the situation better? or should I switch to the factory OEM 3.9,4.1,4.3 final gear ratios?

Am I right to assume that people with single turbo setups would also have same problem with high final gear ratios?

There are aftermarket ebc's and ecu's that should be able to target gear specific boost values.

Thanks for the answer. If I am correct this can be done on my PowerFC (hopefully).

Btw just saw your FD build thread. Looks sweet!
