tried searching and didnt quite find my problem, but im sure (almost positive) thats its happened to someone here.
over the past few weeks ive noticed a power redution in my car. when i first bought it i was making 11psi w/ DP, High flo CAT, CAI, mild Street Port, Ported wastegates, and G-Force ECU. recently ive been averaging 8 or 10psi at WOT. a few days ago i couldnt even make 10psi in 4th gear. tonight i nearly lost to a modded Golf 1.8T.... boost falls off in WOT. when i parked it i smelled and saw smoke coming from the turbo area... smelled kinda like burning rubber (?)
i have no idea what is wrong, but im thinking its either a bad BOV (stock), Leaking Y-pipe coupler, or collapsing primary turbo inlet pipe. please help me out here, its like my car is getting slower and slower....
note: less than 3k miles on engine and turbos.

I would definately check all of the couplers if it smells like burning rubber. Did you do a hosejob recently and make sure all of the solenoids, lines, or check valves were in proper working condition. The first time I pulled everything apart I was getting a similar smell to yours, but I found the hoses the previous owner used were of some other material than silicone and in time they burned through.

all the vac lines are silicon... so i doubt its that. i'll check the solenoids as well.
i gave it a once over again last night and gave the primary inlet hose a gentle squeeze. it caved..... soft as a pillow. im going to look into replacing that first... are there any metal replacements out there?
