Lower Intake Manifold, directly above injectors. what is it

So im working on setting my turbo and fuel kit up and i had to pull a part off the LIM right above my secondary rail. Has a couple electrical connectors and vac lines running to it. The turbo kit actually came with a block off plate that lines right up. What is this part.

Also, the gasket appears to have a magnet on it. Does that need to stay with the block off plate?

I had a large buildup of black goo in there. Oily/watery/gassy. How bad is this? Could it be a byproduct of my oil seal in my previous turbos going bad?

Thanks guys

Air control valve. you probably just got some carbon buildup on it or something. Clean it off and you should be good.

well... is it 1, or 2?

here you can see 1 a little more closely.

if you're single or non-sequential, block it off and don't worry about it or buy this pretty little piece that showed up on my doorstep a few days back.

The buildup is probably from blowby vapors recirculated through the factory crankcase ventilation system.
