low secondary boost in lower gears & other boost problems

well i have a problem. well 2 problems. the first is that i get no more than 8psi of boost in the 1-3 gears no matter how high i set the boost via the boost controller. but when flooring it on the highway in 4th gear i get perfect boost. also, my car doesnt accept a boost setting higher than say 12.5 lbs. i get a very bad jerk if i go higher in boost. wat could be causing this problem?

im limited to 7 psi of boost myself.I havent found the problem yet but I suspect either main cat cloggin up,bad check valves or a vacuum problem somewhere.

if you can hear some sort of whoosing noise when the turbo spools up its almost certain to be a vacuum leak...

when mine cracked it was at the y-coupler, but both are prone to fail apparently so check both of those first.

it was a line underneath the crossover pipe and underneath that black vacuum chamber thing which is hard to see as well, u would wanna take that off to see

i agree, my coupler at the y-pipe cracked 2times already and i changed it and wen i heard the noise again, i was certain it was the coupler, but it wasn't. following week later, i took everything apart again and found it

good luck

Do you have an aftermarket ECU? If not, you're hitting fuel cut when you're getting 12psi of boost.
