low idle when warm after hard highway run
No shaking here, she just hums away. I just hear small back fires in the exhaust sometimes. I need to change my wires as well. They have been on there since before I bought the car perhaps since 1999. :-(
I saw this car yesterday; the vacuum was solid. The car has appears to have a hose job done with zipties, but we still sprayed some cleaner to see if there was an obvious vacuum leak, and nothing. The The shaking starts at 1100 rpms and below.
Not sure if any of this info is helpful in the diagnosis...

Check your vacuum lines. I sprayed carb cleaner around and nothing changed so I shined my LED flashlight under my UIM. Tada 1 vacuum line was disconnected. I reconnected it and viola no more oscillating vacuum (rock steady at 17 in/hg), and steady rpm at 720.
Just some info for thought!

. I have ordered the Magnecor's KV85 Competition (8.5mm) Spark Plug Wires. So no more ignition break-ups. Also for less restriction the Blitz Nür Spec Catback. So she should be good to roll!
update. i took my car to get it smogged. and i passed smog on all tests. is that a good indication that my problem isn't as drastic as a chipped or cracked seal? or could i still have a chipped or cracked seal and still pass smog?
I think it's all hype. I did a vacuum job with silicone from hose techniques on my car this past week and all my idle, vacuum, turbo problems are now history. She runs like new again!
My variable vacuum used to be at 13-14 In/Hg. Now it is sitting rock steady at 17 in/Hg.
Just something to think about?!

Would a leaky fuel injector or rail for that matter cause an oscilating idel/vacuum? I knwo it woudl definitely cause a very rich Idel becasue as of lately I can not get it to thin out above 12 afr. Coudl a vac leak also cause soemthing liek this or is that purely fuel line/ rail/ injector related? I might also have a small vac hose leak somewhere and I suspect it might indeed be by my LIM.

Usually, if you have a blown/damaged LIM gasket, you'll also have some fuel odor.
No odor from what I can tell. The odd thing is I had these 850s cleaned by RC before i put them in the primary rail. and everythign was working just fine before the car flooded this one time....Also when I turn on the car now I have to give it gas at about 2000rpm and hold for a while to have the idel stablize. Because if I dont the engine turns on runs for like 5 seconds and then stalls.
