squeak

I'm on my fourth RX-7. Every GD one of them has had the same problem with the heat shields on the exhaust. The shield itself is stainless, the fasteners are not. So sooner or later, the fasteners rust and break. When they do, the shield flaps and vibrates around. Mine always made that squeaking noise right up to the instant I ripped the f####in thing off the car.

I also have a little bird in my engine!

I just got my engine rebuilt and after a couple of weeks driving, i get a little bird in my engine that makes a chirping sound. The sound does not affect the performance of the car, at least It doesn't seem to. The worst part about this problem is that it is intermittent. There at night but gone in the morning.

For example, in the morining my car sounds great no bird chirping. But everytime I leave work about 5pm, the bird is back as soon as I start up my car and will remain there for the remainder of the evening. Sometimes it's not that bad, and I'ts definitely not the hood cause I know that squeak very well.

I still have the original turbos on the car cause i couldnt afford to rebuild them yet.

It's just wacky cause the car drives fine. but the sound is sooo annoying and embarrasing. Oh well... that my experience.

And this my friends is a perfect example of knowing how to use the "Search" function. He had a problem so he did a search and came up with this old thread.

All the newbies should learn from him.

And the SOB only does it when it makes you look like an idiot in a POS. "Oh yeah, great car ... sounds like it's falling apart man". and that from a guy in a mustang!

Try tigtening the hood and hatch latches, cured 90% of my problems -- squeeky squeeky squeeky - like some damn squirrel. *@&#^$%#&@*#&$^$@!

Kento,

Thanks

It's Michael Schumacher during practice in Monte Carlo. No more chirping or squeeking from that Ferrari
