Yeah, BOVs are very very cool, especially the stock ones.

I'd stay with the stock units.

I run a pair of stockers on my current setup, and they work flawlessly at 17 psi.

Oh, and to ronkmiller.......

lol

You know we should have a clip of all the setups so people can stop asking such questions. =P.

And I just heard the greddy from outside.
It's definatly a lot louder then the stock.

The greddy type S will give a screeching banshee sound. Sounds really cool if you want a loud "look!...I have a turbo!" and it is supposedly very functional. It is what I have. It has gotten a little old and will probably switch back to the Apexi (what I had before) once my TO4S kit arrives. I will decide on that hinging on whether the pipe they give me will link up to my Cool Charge III.

The apexi is a loud kkshhhhaaahhh! And is more like air being released rather than a little pipe making the air scream.

The stocker is more classic sounding and is very smooth in my opinion

Im suprised no one has suggested the TurboXS Really ******* Loud valve. l have heard about every valve made... many many times... the RFL is by far the loudest and sound is always in the eye of the beholder. I have two and I love them,

I had the turbo XS RFL on my subaru wrx before i sold it, definately loudest blowoff valve you can get pretty much, i mean it has a horn where the air blows off at. now i have the greddy type S on my rx7 and its nowhere near as loud but it is still loud enough to be heard from a distance, ive had cars in front of me hear it with their windows down.

I like the sound and polished "Chrome" look of the HKS SSQ... as well as the fact that it's supposedly more reliable... what I don't get is why it comes with a block off plate... WTF ! ? In case you need to get the valve serviced !? So now what You have nothing venting the extra pressure !? Does this not sound dangerous !?

I like the stealth approach - just a vacuum whoosh when I go by them

how some of you can spend money on a bov rather then upgrading to a power fc or adding a mod that actually does something is beyond me!!?!!?
Of course that excludes you single guys.

its IMPOSSIBLE to make MORE power with a bov.... the only thing that could possibly improve is if your stock valve or aftermarket valve leaks and you replace it with one that works... depending on the leakage it could be good for alot of horsepower to replace them.

ps... I think the ssqv sounds too much like a whistle
