Loose Fuel Pump Fuse

Didn't have any luck searching on fuse boxes. My fuel pump fuse is loose enough (probably from being pulled so many times) that it's causing intermittant pump failure. Is there an easy fix for fuses that have gotten loose? Even anything temporary just to get me by for a weekend?

If not, how big of a deal is it to replace the fuse box? Is there just a harness going to it, or am I going to be resoldering all the wires?

Thanks a ton for any help. Having to work 70 hours a week and trying to get ready for Speedfed this weekend on top of that...doesn't leave time to do the research I would normally do on my own....

I'd imagine you could probably put something around one of the legs of the fuse itself to get it to contact better. Solder a bit of metal on it or something.

I would check the socket to see if something is either broken or bent to allow the fuse to be that loose. It might be something you can fix without too much effort.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to push the prongs in the fuse box back together, but I guess with their age they've lost their elasticity, and it didn't seem to accomplish anything. I was afriad to push on them too hard in case they've gotten brittle from the heat. If one snaps off I'll have a much bigger problem.....

My only concern about wrapping something around the fuse, is that if it melts, it might....fuse....the fuse to the fuse box and then I'll have an even bigger problem.

If you are contemplating replacing the whole box, then you don't have much to loose.

True, true, but I'm lazy and was only contemplating replacing the whole fuse box if there's a nice tidy harness going to it. If it's a bunch of individual wires, I'll just be wrapping duct tape around the whole thing.....
