Yeah I remember that thread. More turns lock to lock so less steering response.

And the aftermarket rack (atomic rex?) had a lower steering ratio so it has even faster steering response. To me the stock ratio seems good, it could be improved with a smaller steering wheel for that matter. I just cant see myself spending thousands of dollars on a steering rack for a faster steering ratio.

I'll be sure to do some sort of writeup when I convert my rack. Though the miata site already has a really good writeup. I plan on welding up the quill and removing the seals, maybe slap some fresh paint on there if I'm not in too much of a hurry.
