There doesn't seem to be any damage to the turbos, though I am not really sure what to look for or what I can see without being able to see the "hot" side of the turbines. I know they turn very freely, so that has to be good...right?

Yea, like Max and Kento said...you have to remove the turbing housing to see the entire turbine wheel and shaft. I dont see anyway that they couldnt be ruined if you have all that **** in your exhaust. The turbine wheels are very delicate and a spec of apex seal going thru there will ruin them.....I'd say from that pic they just about HAVE to have had a spec or two or twenty go thru them unless you were maybe just sitting at idle when it happened but I doubt that lol.

So how hard is it to break down the turbos? And what sort of seals/gaskets would I need to replace? Any links to anything on this? Or should I just search it?
I examined the wheels as far as I can see with an extremely bright light I have for just such stuff, there is NO visible damage to any part of the turbines, there is no scuffing on the sides of the cast iron turbo manifold, but you say there could be hidden damage? And yeah I will definitely check it all out before putting these on the rebuild, this is WAYYYYY to much hassle to not do it completely right. And the turbos DO have 93K miles on them, so a rebuild on them wouldn't hurt anyway.

It is very simple and you don't need any gaskets or seals, etc. to put them back together. There are several bolts with 10mm heads and little plates under them that hold the turbo center housing to the turbine housing. Remove those, and the turbo will come apart, allowing you to see the whole turbine wheel.
