Looks like XS Power is getting some recognition.....
Yea, I wouldn't trust a non reputable turbo company to make something as comlex as a turbocharger.
There is an amazing amount of testing and engineering that goes into each turbo before it is released for production. Precise machining goes into these turbos that greatly effects performance and reliability. And because they take so much stress, heat and spin so fast, they fail in ways you would never even begin to imagine.
HKS and Precision are just rebadged Garrett turbo's, as Turbonetics used to be. Turbonetics used to be rebadged Garrett turbochargers as well, before they stole our technology and started making turbos themselves, there is really bad blood between Garrett and Turbonetics.
I wouldn't even dream of using an ebay turbo or XS, cutting corners on a turbo is not a good idea.

...I remember 2 years before I got my drivers license, when I got my first car in 1974, a 68 Camaro RS/SS....Kragen Auto Parts tried to sell me rear brake slave cylinders. I told the person that I didn't want them because the were made in Japan...lol

China is basically in the same position the Japanese were back in the '50s and early '60s.
