It looks like someone is targeting my FD!

No fuel doesnt stop a trailor winch
Basically, you put your keys out there, its just a slightly better chance someone will get into the car. Who knows, those guys may not even have your keys. If someone wants your car bad enough, there is NOTHING you can do to stop them.

my wife's car (2005 Mazda 6i base) got stolen from our driveway last year... while my FD was in the carport. One of the neighbors saw someone fooling around in the car as well as a suv that the driver acted strange (5:30 am) and then drive off and didn't say anything about it until the next day. He retired after 20+ yrs as a state trooper... Don't count on you neighbors. I've since decided that the FD will be in the back guarded by my german security system.
hmmmm....guess you can always warehouse it....plus you get the fun of sliding in there =D well thats if you dont have aything to crash into....my buddy did that in his civic and he crashed into a shelf of tires XD shelf did most of the damage to the front bumper but its bettter than getting your car stolen....
LOL yes i used it, even back in the day when i was like 12 years old riding bmx.
We would cut chains to get into playgrounds and inner facilities and ride.
Its not hard at all. Takes muscle but its not like cutting a car in half, come on now.

My friend is very cool. I've known him for a very long long time, but it's the people that he hangs around with that worries me. Everytime I stop by his house to check on the status of the car, there's always a "new" person there that I've never seen before. He has asian, white, black, and hispanic friends.
I talked to his older brother the day after someone stole my keys and he told me that someone stole over $10,000 worth of jewelry from his mom's jewelry box about a week before my keys were jacked and there was no sign of forced entry.

Glad to hear that your friend is cool. We all need cool friends. HOWEVER, at some point in time you are going to have to decide what is important - your friendship with this guy or your possessions like your FD, and possibly your T.V. stereo, clothes etc...
Here is what bugs me about your cool friend...you trusted him to look after your keys and he let you down. He didn't take the time to secure them in a safe place. Is this what a friend does to another friend??
It looks like one of his "new friends" stole your keys and now your FD is a risk. And what has he done about it?? Answer: Nothing.
Just imagine what would have happened if you went on vacation and asked him to check on your house and gave him your house key!!
And now his mom is out $10,000 in jewelry again, because of one of his "new friends"!!
In my mind it is time to re-evaluate the friendship or at least minimize any future damage by not trusting him as much as you used to.
Keep him as a friend, go out and have a beer, but do not trust him with anything that you value.

P.S. In addition to getting new locks, I would invest in the best alarm system on the market. That combined with the chains and "the club" might allow you to keep your FD. Oh, and I would send the bill for the alarm and the club to your cool friend!!
+100000000000..... and yes get an alarm system that disables the started, my alarm when armed even if you have the key in the ingnition and turn it, nothing will happen unless the alarm is turned off
We were having alot of problems with car theft a few years ago. One of the problems is that law enforcement will usually do something but it takes a long time and many cars gone before some justice is finally served.
Lately people have been so pissed off at thieves anyone caught has been getting the **** beat outta them.
I'd roll 4 friends deep with guns and go follow the guys in the Civic. Get pulled over just say you were going to a gravel pit shooting.
