It looks like someone is targeting my FD!
I had a similar expierence where a "friend" was always helping me do all types of **** to my car one day my car came up missing. My car a 12a bridge-port with a holley a few weeks later he was driving a bridgey. Coincidence? I think not. Friends or not you don't know what his intentions are but it sounds kinda fishy to me. Rent a garage somewhere away from your house change your locks and for the love of god don't hand out keys to your car
WTF were you thinking? I wish you the best of luck.

It's OK, and even ADVISABLE, to judge people by the company they keep! If you think someone is "cool" but they hang with ruffians and thugs, then it's your perception of them that is at fault.
lol @ ruffians. somehow reminded me of aladdin. anyway. your friend is shady. the classic look the the thing that you stole and look at the guy you stole it from with shock is real old.
+1 on insurance which with these cars i think full is a must......also rent a garage for a week or 2 and store the car in there and tell ur friend u changed all the locks(even tho u didnt) just in case.... i dont even trust my parents/brother/gf with my keys to my car, why would u give it out?
People in my area know not to steal my car......
The reason.....
Everytime they see me im either attached to a piece of tow rope or on the back of a transporter. If someone with the keys has **** all chance of driving it, then
why bother!

so your master car key was stolen? If you install a car alarm, even if the person has a key the alarm will still go off. If you want to one up that, relocate your battery to the passenger bin. If you want to go a step higher, relocate your fuse boxes to the bin as well.
I'm not sure how to steal a car, but I would assume not being able to access the battery and fuse boxes would be a plus. The passenger bin is lockable.
If you can't afford a car alarm and to relocate things, then just pull the EGI relay when it's parked on the street.

Edit:
Recon,
I ALWAYS park my car next to a light post and chain the car to it with a HEAVY duty lock. After the car is chained up, I install "the club" on the steering wheel and "the club auto brake". Lastly I went to the chevy dealership and had them install the trunk monkey. I think my car is pretty safe

FD KEY SET
Part No : FD02-09-010D
$579.43 Retail
$348.35 Through Mazda Motorsports Account; www.mazdamotorsports.com
Oh, and in order to replace the steering column lock set you have to drill out the two bolts that have the install heads broken off. When you install the new you just screw in until you break the head off.
The rear lock requires you to remove the rear bumper to install. The door locks and storage bin locks a easy to replace, just don't lose the clips. Best to have a good set of picks for removing lock clips.
Peace
