looking to upgrade from stock brake setup, what options are there that dont cost big

First off sorry if this topic has already been addressed before im terrible at using the search bar thing and didnt have much luck finding any info.

Im interested in upgrading my brakes but not looking to purchase an expensive big brake kit or anything and was wondering what are the best options to get more braking power from my FD. Currently in a build and should be making around 500rwhp so need to make sure ive got the stopping power for it too. My current setup is stock brake calipers and rotors with Hawk HP+ pads. Looking for what options ive got.

Check the Suspension Section. You can find used big brake kits for $1200-$1600 in the FS section from time to time. That is about the cheapest option I can think of...or you can spend 7k on the Endless kit! =)

there isnt any better brakes from any other mazdas that are possible to fit up to the FD or maybe big brakes from other vehicles that can be fitted up? How great is the stock brake calipers able to perform with higher power levels?

Big Brake Kits are a waste of money unless you're always on the track, or if you want them for aesthetic reasons.

If you just drive on the street, I would recommend spending the money elsewhere.

I believe rx7.com offers upgraded rotors and pads, or you can upgrade to 99 spec brakes which are larger. Not sure about costs though.

A good option with cost in mind...

Their FD kit isn't done yet. But they're good guys, I'll probably buy it when they get done with it.

Hasn't everyone settled on Racing Brake upgrades for improved brakes?

Otherwise getting stock rotors with slightly more aggressive pads will do well for the occasional track day use.

I'm still saving up for Racing Brakes myself...

Big Brake kits do not make your car stop any faster than stock brakes.

BBK's provide better heat displacement and consistent pedal feel, so that your brakes won't fade after doing 10 laps.

Have you gone out and done track events yet and determined that your brakes get over cooked?
