I have a 94 RX-7 Touring. About 4 months ago during some "spirited" shifting, I did the dreaded 2nd to 5th shift. Now when I shift into 5th gear, I grind all the time. (I can sometimes get around it if I double clutch)

I am trying to work on a shopping list of upgrades, since the tranny will have to be dropped out to repair the 5th gear synchro. What recommendations would you have for upgrades? I am leaning more towards reliability over performance. (granted I enjoy spirited driving as well) Currently, I am looking at 2 items as part of the upgrade. ACT Street Strip Clutch and an Undetermined Short Shifter Kit. Any thoughts on others?

I appreciate any and all help on this one.

Change your shift select spindle to the newer part #. It has a stronger spring and will help to prevent from missing the 2nd to 3rd miss-shifts. Part #: R503-17-550 and the gasket is S524-17-112 Less than $50 for both.
