i put a set of mb quart psc 216's in my doors. i had the standard cassette player (non bose) and mounted them using 5mm amp spacers (from any reputable car stereo shop) and used black duct tape to baffle them off. i then used some backstrap to mount my tweeters over the midbass. you will no longer be able to use the factory metal grille, so remove it and wrap the frame with grille cloth. works for me...with awesome midbass response. see attached and next few posts as i don't know how to attach multiple files.

good luck...very few decent speakers will fit in the doors with no modification. the panel is too shallow from my experience. I have tried two sets neither of which I liked.

if you know a good set..please post it.

I got My Infinty Kappa's 6.5" speakers to fit. and they are ******* awesome! you will have to cut the speaker mount's back piece the blocks the speaker from fitting and glue them in place, but it worked for me without window contact and they have not come loose. make sure you position them properly so not the hit the grill.

Anyone try the DEI Neodymiums in the front? My Subaru has similar issues with door width. The DEI's fit like a glove and sound very good IMO. Depends on what you're looking for. They can take a lot of power too.

Put some nice 12" subs in there. Better make it a meal deal, cause you save money that way.
I like the subway Vegie Delight myself.
