looking for previous owner of TX flood FD, Montego Blue
I'm looking for the previous owner or someone who knows the car. It recieved a flood title in Houston, TX on 9/17/01. The car is a 93 Montego blue FD. It is an automatic with tan leather interior. It had a carbon fiber dash kit on it, racing beat intake, and some R2 decals behind the doors. If you know anything about the car please reply, I got it as a project car and would like some info. on it. Thanks in advance.

I do not know who' s it is but I saw a Mont. blue 3rd in a ditch covered in water on june 11th. The flood was on the 9th the reason I remember this it was the day we bought our new baby from the hospital. and drove right by it. I would have to say it is probably the one. How much did you pay for it?

That might be it, how high up was the water on it? That will be able to determine whether it was mine or not. I've actually dealt quite a bit with flood cars so I got a good deal on it, but as for how much...I'll just say there was no cash involved. But it anyone knows who it was or who the previous owner was, I would greatly appreciate any info. I could get on it. Thanks

Re: looking for previous owner of TX flood FD, Montego Blue
Hi.
I'm also trying to buy a 3 gen, I asume you go in the the salvage auctions, I have been in several ones here in the southwest, but no good luck till now, I also saw some at texas at copart but is very far away for me, and very dificult to get transportation of one car to my hometown, cost for one car is about 500dls, but I need to fill 9 more, how much did you pay for the car? and what you have to change in a flooded car?
I remember that once a bought a honda that only the front went to the water, the motor was stuck, put some WD40, and start moving the car in second gear to began to loose the inside, and I change the carburetor, and that was all, but with a fd dont now what bad can be with the rotors stuck,
Thank you

You might want to try contacting the Texas DOT for that info, not sure if they can release it or not.
Meanwhiles, people can check here to see if thier car is a Texas flood car:

Hope that helps!

I'm not sure what all is wrong with it, It's been running twice since it's been bought, but I think it needs an ECU. I just thought someone on the forum might know the owner, or evener better yet, the previous owner might be on here. Haven't had much time to work on it yet. As far as flood cars, the first thing I do NO MATTER WHAT is flush all the fluids...but thats just day one stuff right there...after that, your on your own, if you know cars, you'll know what to do.
