Haltech, or the new aem unit looks very good. Or if you want a simple plug n play go with the power fc. Don't waste your time with Peter Farrels unit.

If you gave me a PFS PMS for free I would use it. No wait... I'm just joking, I still wouldn't use one

That unit is too old and basically sucks. Actually, he sucks. Go with either the A'pexi Power FC, Pettit's, or Haltech.

Peters comp isnt bad just make sure you get the keypad with it. Although the power fc is a better buy in my opinion. Although I ve never owned either one. MY friends use peters, ha that was a funny sentence.. anyway

Stop raggin on the PMS!! I have that system on my car and It runs fine. Of course the PFC is new and more flexible, so it is the better system, but it all depends whos going to tune your car as well. If your near XS, then the the PFC is the way to go. I, however was near tripoint and they tuned the PSM EFI on mine, and my car runs real strong and is much better then when I had the stock ecu. Just remember that the PMS was one of the first systems out for the FD and everyone was using it before, so its still a good system.

It depends on how much money you have to spend.
If you have $1200+, then yeah, sure, go for the PFC or the AEM or whatever. But, if you have only $500 and you choice is a M2/pettir reprogrammed or a PMC, then I would go for the PMC, because it is programmable. Remeber, this sells new for $1200. Yeah, thats a bit much for today, but several years ago, lots of people paid $1200+ for these units and ran them. As for Peter himself, remember he does not make this unit - EFI does - he just sells them.

I do run an old gold box. And for the most part, I am happy with it. I did run into a big hesitation problem that drove me crazy. But I was able to clear it completely after unplugging the PMC, running just the stock ECU for a day, then plugging it back it in.

Would I perfer to have a PFC or AEM unit - sure. Hopefully, the AEM unit will be the greatest thing since sliced bread and everyone will want one and people will dump the PFC on the used market and I can get one for under $1000. we;ll see!

Thanks for the advice. I did find a used ferrell system for about 500.00, thats why I was asking. I need the upgrade and is what I'm going to do before I do anything else. I'm maxed out on the the stock unit. Thanks again, you all. slip
Anyone contact me if you have a system you want to get rid of, to make room for your new AEM unit.
