looking for input on chassis rewire
hey guys,
looking for some input on rewiring my chassis, i have a swapped ls1 with a pez harness. was gutting interior to get ready for a roll cage and this wiring is just butchered. removed front fenders and the harness was not support and rubbed into the harness exposing wires.
so its all bad, im planning on just running what i need for street legal. keeping it gutted, and putting in a switch panel to run/turn everything on. so im trying keep things simple.
now im not sure if i should go with say a painless kit, and wrap everything nice so go with the Leash Electronics board i already ordered.
mainly looking for some input, ideas.

IMO the Leash power distribution fuse/relay boxes look like a pretty good bang for your buck solution for a budget minded street car. I've never installed one myself, but they look pretty straight forward...Depending on how many inputs/outputs and what you want them to do. I forgot if they come with provisions for hazards or indicators, so you may need to wire in diodes.
The more pricey/flexible option is a solid state PDM. Motec makes a nice one, but of course you better be willing to throw down a few thousand. Haltech offers their version called Smartwire for a fairly reasonable price. These systems allow you to eliminate all the relays and fuses from your car, program outputs however you like, and allows for much easier changes without having to rewire things. You can also wire in sensor inputs to allow device activation based upon user defined criteria (turn on aux fan @ 90*, etc). Especially cool if you're running a haltech ecu.

ive looked into the smartwire, it looks awesome but i just cant justify it for the car. if it was a dedicated race car i would, but its purely lets go too fast on the track few times a summer and car show type thing.... drive to work take it to car shows. so im okay keeping fuses and relays.
my biggest fear with doing this on my own is the wiring from the pez harness thats running through the front harness and into the cabin. im not 100% sure on how to tackle the engine harness needs, interior/lights like you said is easy with the board and the blinker/hazards is indeed built into the board.
so my plan was running the leash board, buying the ARC 8000 switch panel, and attempt to keep the stock blinker "arm?" remove the keyed ignition and run it right off the switch panel.
i do commercial lighting and electrical for a living, but never worked with car wiring besides simple additive installs. and i also plan to try my best at the "mil-spec" style of wrapping and connectors keeping everything as neat and clean, and functional as possible.

i also looked into having this done for me, (Mil-spec Chassis Harness)
but at that price, smartwire seems like a better move... but after everything, i think i would have a lot of money into it. but damn will it be pretty, and done right haha.
