Looking for a good performance/repair shop in the San Francisco area.

I purchased a 94 R2 about two months ago and am looking for a good repair facility in the San Francisco area. I have a Kakimoto Racing exhaust system being shipped in from Japan. As soon as this arrives, I will be looking to install a new intake (probably HKS), and the exhaust system as well as the body work on the car. I intend on putting the Apexi front bumper, rear end and side skirts.
The rest of the improvements can be done once the engine gives out. I purchased a 36,000 mile warranty and the car has about 90K on it now. Once the engine goes, I want to do a number of reliability mods and some performance mods in conjunction with the engine rebuild. Basically I want the car to perform good as a daily driver, but I also want to get a good deal more power out of the rotary engine. I figure with the right mods, I should be able to get a 40% increase in power and still have a realible vehicle. Any other parts needed will be at the recommendation of the garage doing the work on the rebuild when the time comes so I want to find someone really good with the rotary engine. Any recommendations on a good shop in the San Francisco area that can handle all of this? I would prefer to deal with one shop for both the body modifications and performance modifications, or perhaps a good performance shop who can outsource the body work.
Thanks in advance,
John

Any suggestions on an exhaust/intake combo? I was thinking about the apexi N1 exhaust until I saw another RX7 with a Kakimoto exhaust. The kakimoto exhaust had a larger diameter from what I have seen from HKS and Apexi. I am also trying to decide if I should go down pipe now or wait until I do the engine mods. Of course I am a novice when it comes to these things so I really do not know which way to go yet.
I haven't commited to anything yet so I am open to suggestions.
I plan on doing a lot of performance mods to the engine but have to wait until it goes in for a warranty repair on the engine using the warranty I purchased with the car. In the mean time, I want to get the exhaust and intake done, but since I plan on getting the engine ported when I rebuild, I want something that will work good with a modified engine.
This RX7 is an incredible car and a lot of fun to drive even in stock form, however, I need a lot more power than it is currently putting out.

Thanks,

John

94 RX7 R2 stock.

Intake wise I recommend...box style ..my favs are
www.rx7fashion.com (if you like metal boxes)
www.m2performance.com (if you like carbon fiber)

Catback depends on what you like....
all out flow (apexi gt)
Quiet (racing beat, greddy sp)

You do know once you modify the car and you have a warranty claim they will deny your warranty based that you made modifications....

nah...not really, Johnny. Kakimoto is a very respectable Japanese tuner.

Get a M2 or Pettit DP.

The RX7fashion and M2 intake are excellent recommendations.

CB is a personal choice. Quiet and stock looking duals like M2 duals and Racing Beat are good. Louder ones like the N1 and Apexi GT are flashier.

You should probably do DP and intake. With a CB also, you may need an aftermarket ECU also. Dont' get any intake with foam crap. If you are set on open intake, consider the Apexi. If you are gonna run an open intake and DP, get an ECU before getting another mod.

If you are less than 36k mi, there shouldn't be any worries on rebuild if you take good care of the car. Do all the reliability mods before hopping on performance parts. Hose job, change all fluids. Don't mod your car unless it runs & idles smoothly and don't get overly hot. Spend your money to get it running perfectly first before adding that 25-30 hp. Don't ruin your motor by hopping it up if there is anything wrong with it. Wait a few months and learn more about the car. It's very temperamental and you may have problems that you don't realize but need to fix. Many have blown their motor at 30-60k mi due to lack of understanding and HP temptation.
