looking at a 7?questions
i am looking at buying a 7
it has normal mods catback,mp,dp, turbo timer, radiator, ecu reprogramming.
anyways the sellers says you can set the boost for 0-20psi
he says he was running 15psi and then turned it down to 12psi when it got cold.
does 15psi sound like too much for a stock engine?and turbos?
anything i should look for?
does anybody drive these cars as a semi daily driver?
thanks

15 sounds a lil high for stock injectors and just a "reprogramed" ecu. Read this, it will help out.

15 psi is way too much for stock engine and turbos if you plan on driving it for more then 10 minutes at a time.
My ported and non-seq turbos run 11psi daily driving and I think thats a pretty safe number - 12 seems a little high and 15 is dangerous.
I use my car daily driving (well - did - it hasnt left the garage for about 2 weeks) and my only advice is try to drive it as little as possible dialy because you will be paying a rediculous amount for gas and oil - both of which are very expensive
Things I would look for (this is from experience buying mine ) check to make sure there was never an engine fire or overheating, check the wiring harness if you can to see if its brittle or charred. Do all the electrical systems work perfectly? How about the wipers? Sometimes the wiper motor will get slow as it gets older (i wish I had checked this out on mine) Ask about reliability mods make sure he knows his stuff, I would look for an AST and intercooler if they werent recently replaced.
Its definetly a fun car to drive daily but its high maintance and can be downright dangerous if you don't know what your doing. Its a lot of power to handle and it can easily get away from you if you get cocky :\
good luck!! oh and search for a buyers guide in the FAQ there are a couple really good ones that will help you out a lot!
