locking pin around clutch/bellhousing area??

Does anyone know if there is a locking pin around the clutch/bellhousing area? It looks like a safety pin or a pin that would go through the end of a bigger pin/rod to keep it from coming out. I have no idea where it would go. I found it on the ground after doing my clutch. yikes.

thanks.

There are 2 dowels in the rear iron that help align the transmission during reassembly. One is in the upper right corner, another in the lower left corner of the rear iron as viewed from behind.

They are about 1/2" in diameter and 1/2" in depth.

hmm. This is a small safety pin looking thing...like a caughter pin or something. Its not an actual rod or dowel. It doesnt look like anything that was on the clutch fork or anything. In fact, I dont ever remember seeing it anywhere until I saw it on the ground. I cant figure out if its even supposed to be on the car. lol.

I will try to get a picture of it.

That retainer pin is like the one that goes on the Brake pedal actuator rod to the Vacuum Diaphram....

I was thinking it would have to be from inside the car. I will check it out tomorrow and see if I am missing a pin on one of the pedals.

It is not a part on the transmission. Now that I've seen a pic, I can confirm that.
