FL Locating the power source on the 12-pin connector to a type-1 radio

I plan on installing a PLX wideband and want to tap into my radio's power source to power the wideband. Being color blind, I typically do not work on electrical items so I never learned how to read wiring diagrams until now. I read all the general information in both my 1994 Body and Wiring Diagrams. Referring to page Z-86, I believe that in the 12 pin connector (J1-01), pin 1A is the power source and pin 1C is the backup power source. I am inclined to tap into the line that feeds to pin 1A. Can someone please confirm that is the line into which I should tap for my power feed? Alternatively, can I tap into pin 1D, the antenna switch, or pin 1J, the Amp. control? If so, of the four power sources, which one(s) would you use and why? Thank you for your help.

I agree with your assessment. 1A appears to be ignition switched power and 1C appears to be constant (memory) power. For your wideband you'll want switched power. I strongly recommend picking up a $20 multimeter (sears or radio shack) if you're going to be doing electrical work. That way you determine which pins carry power, polarity, if your alternator is working, continuity, calibrating TPS sensors, etc. Good luck!
