Little mirror (Glass) problem

Hi,

Did a search and found mainly threads on the whole wing mirror assembley removal/repair etc.

Today I broke my glass duh, while trying to remove it. Could anyone let me know how they have removed their one. I am guessing it needs to be heated up and chould come loose. Today I just pulled too hard and it cracked. I want to confirm before I mess anything else up.

Before anyone asks, I am removing it to do a complete respray on my 7. Winning Blue Will put a post up on my progress once I get that piece of **** camera of mine working.

Thanks

I think you are supposed to heat it to soften the glue then gently pry off. You need like a heat gun or something, not just a hair dryer or, say, a panting dog .

I haven't ever tackled that myself, though.

All cars work the same way: Heat the glass up really hot with a heat gun and then gently pry the glass off.
