VA LIM Heat Shield, Turbo Blanket, Wraps

I am trying plan the best approach to manage heat on my FD.

So Far I have installed:
-Fluidyne Radiator
-Turbo Blank

I was looking at both rx7 stores and turblowns LIM shields(links below)

RX7 Store = 365.00
FD3S LIM Heatsheild

Turblown = 339.00
Inconel LIM Heat Shield - Turblown Engineering

After I figure out which LIM shield is best I plan on wrapping the downpipe and running Wannaspeed's Water Injection as the icing on the cake.

In short, anyone have any experience running either of these LIM shields?

I wouldn't run a turbine blanket unless you want to shorten the life of the turbo itself.

I prefer my turbo going before my engine to be honest with you. I have read both sides of the coin as far as blankets go...

The question is does anyone have any experience with the aforementioned shields... or recommend another vendor?

I have the Turblown iconel shield on my lower intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbine housing and I have my 4 inch downpipe wrapped. The difference from my previous setup is pretty noticeable. When I get home I pop the hood and there is not nearly as much heat coming off the engine. The biggest difference from my previous setup was that I didn't have the exhaust manifold shielded. Elliott does awesome work. All do the above mentioned parts are also jet coated with the black 2000 degree stuff.
Will all this shorten the lifespan of the turbo, manifolds, etc? Maybe, but I share your opinion that I would rather sacrifice the turbo than the motor.

^same as above. I also have Turblown and like the reduced temp under the hood. possibly will shorten your life of your turbo but again would rather have the turbo go first. Also depends on what else you're doing to your motor but I would say go with Turblown

Great info. I am going to email Turblown about the LIM and also see what they can do about my HKS cast exhaust manifold. If anyone else has suggestions please post. I will also post responses I get from turblown

I think there's a difference between blankets and inconel or other metal heat shielding, with regard to there still being an air gap around the part. Blankets and fabric wraps always seem to be deteriorating nasty messes.
