lil help please

I'm new to the world of doing things myself and among removing my front bumper I found some aluminum tubing by the driver's side headlight running from the silver cannister that was disconnected. I know you are prolly on the floor laughing your asses off, but what is that cannister. I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but I'm just a rookie. At least I'm trying. 8 ) Thanks for the help. Oh yeah, what do you suggest for fixing this problem. It appears that I'm just missing a double sided threaded connection piece, but that's just my opinion. Thanks again.

gl25,
Good luck and I'm glad to see someone with enough enthusiasm for this car to actually do the work himself.

My take on asking questions:
Don't worry about sounding like an idiot because of asking questions. Better to be safe than sorry. Everyone has been in your position in one way or another before, but some of us are in denial.
