Lights automatically popping up
Please help me to identify this electrical gremlin. I seldomly drive the RX so two weeks ago, when I couldn't start the car, I didn't pay any notice and just charged the battery. Took it out for dinner then three hours later, the battery's totally flat. New battery goes in and couple of hours later the same thing happened.
Now with a freshly charged battery, sometimes the headlights will pop up for no reason and turn itself on and the horn will go off by itself intermittently. I've got the horn disconnected and the car drives normal.
It looks like the relay or something is grounded or leaking but I just can't track it. Couple of things I've done/noticed before this happens:
1. I just got someone relocated the battery to behind the driver's seat
2. The front right wheel has rubbed through the inner guard and touched a few wires. I've inspected these and the wires are not exposed.
3. I've added a grounding kit.
I've checked the live wire going from the battery to the fuse relay at the front and it's well insulated and not touching on anything. Anyway, I would have thought a couple of fuses will blow if a major leak like that happens.
Any thoughts appreciated no matter how wild.
Michael

Check your glove box light. It may be draining your battery. Common problem since the latch does not close properly. This was a recall item. Easy fix is to install foam pad to ensure light switch closes correctly.

The stock alarm can trigger the lights and horn when it activates. I'd take a look there first. Since the horn and lights are both steering column items, check the harnesses in there.
