The life & times of an ignition coil

What's the expected life span of an FD ignition coil? I know I have to at least replace my leading coil (my spark plug wire welded to the L2 terminal, and I had to scrape it out). I'd like to know if I should just replace all 3 (I just got a low mileage used set), and to know if there's any life left in my two trailing coils, possibly for cheap resale. 89K mi.

Please e-mail me at mpython3@comcast.net

TIA
Jeff

Does anyone have any insight? Can these coils last forever? Or is there a typical failure point?
