Correct. I've got a Spirit, and the vehicle id no. is stamped into the central bulkhead.

Certainly do. The RZ'x have that recessed central section - the Spirit BBS versions are filled out, as in the pic you posted.

What is the point of doing all that work, if it is a real Spirit? The Spirit is the model that left the factory. You change the wheels to RZ alloys (?? why??), rip out the dash and replace it with a left hand drive version (loosing the "soft touch" grey interior that is part of the "unique" Spirit interior), remove the Spirit plates, change its identity......... IF this is real, how can you still call it a Spirit?!? Its not.

One thing I noticed from the interior shot is the markings around the temperature control ****. It is the one from the US 93 models. They were changed slightly on the 94's and up. The 93's were thinner lines of red and blue, whereas the 94+ were thicker lines. Now whether or not they were like this in Japan or anywhere else, I dont know. But it makes me wonder?

that "soft touch" interior is hideous - not sure why they went with that mismatched look.

Aristo's car is a closer match than this car. He's got the correct wheels.

Ahh, that's interesting to know.. Thanks for that. I wasn't sure if it was done the same or not over seas. I didn't think it was a real Spirit R in the first place..

There are a couple of contradictions in your story...

If it's original (not off a Miata, or not a regular Nardi w/ the stitching dyed etc), yep, you sure do

Not to my knowledge. That's a question better directed to DaiOni though. I'm sure he'd know for sure. But on the whole, I was under the impression that red stitching was reserved for the Spirit R (steering wheel, shift ****, shift boot, e-brake handle, and e-brake boot). Ask me how I know

Thanks for the correction But did the RZ for version VI have the 2000+ Nardi wheel design? (Flying M logo)?

every FD in version VI has the flying m wheel - but only the rz and spirit-r get the red stitching

here's an RB as an example: http://www.carsensor.net/cgi-bin/CS/...HOP=053102001E

It's the Real Deal, direct bolt on (except the elect connectors). I don't know if it came off a Spirit R or an RZ, but it definetly came off a RX-7.

The Miata wheel would have required me to drill the hub for the clock spring (wrong indexing).

I replaced my stock wheel with a 99 Nardi wheel (no M logo). I had it for a couple of years then saw my current wheel on eBay (3+ years ago). I sold the 99 wheel for what I paid for the Spirit R

I missed out on the shift **** & ebrake handle from Jesse (too slow)
