level 10

i just called level 10 today (they fix/rebuilt transmissions) and to my surprise they said they only work on automatics?!?!

does anyone know where i can get my throw out bearing and my sychnros (spell check) fixed and could you give me a guess as to how much you think it would cost?

i have jack stand do you think it would be possible to do something like this at home with help of friends? (experienced friends in mechanics not necessarily rotory)

stupid question: what is it that i would need to do to my trans to upgrade it? since very shortly i will have it out what do i need to purchase to upgrade (ie stuff from act). the only mod i have is an apex gt spec exhaust, other than that my car is stock.

Check out KD Rotary, they shouldn't be to far from you, they're in PA. I'm 99% sure they do the synchros and can replace the throw out and upgrade your clutch. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I think fixing transmission is beyond a garage amature's reach. I think you really need a car lift and a transmission jack/lift for the job. It's quite expensive to replace the synchros alone and I don't know much about the bearing.

You can try KDrotary. Also, if there are any good Mazda dealers nearby, get a quote from them as well. Since it's transmission, dealers should do a decent job. You may also want to get a new clutch while you are at it, depending on the condition of it. Also, you can try a good transmission shop for a quote as a comparison.

Good luck!
